Crear Frases Tontas – Build Silly Sentences

Mar17
2012
Leave a Comment Written by OnlineFreeSpanish

¿Crear frases tontas?

_________________________________________________________

Let’s build silly phrases? MMM… That doesn’t sound too good. Well it might sound more interesting if you are able to combine four different words and create our silly phrase.

Using who, what, when and where, we can build a bunch of phrases that can help us learns Spanish, and uses our imagination to have a good time!

Additionally we can use this lesson to ask the children questions: Who develops the action of the phrase? What are they doing? Where and when does the action occur?  You will see that all the phrases that the little ones create are easy to understand.

Learning using your imagination is a human characteristic; trying to create silly phrases, writing them down and combining the different words, develops the creativity of our mind and helps us retain more of the material.

For example let’s look at and analyze this phrase:

“My neighbor reads a book, early in the morning in the castle”

Let’s see how a single phrase creates a whole story. We can close our eyes and imagine the man reading the book very early in the morning, with a delicious coffee, and, even better, in a far away castle.

A whole story in a simple phrase! So use all the time you have, to learn and think, with a lot of imagination. Just like watching a movie, or TV. Although we are really convinced that learning a new language takes a lot of practice, is important to incorporate imagination to our early learning.

Gracias,

Gracias,

Mini books are a great new tool for kids to practice reading. With the mini books the kids would have so much fun while painting each of the pages of this book. Additionally is a good resource to learn a new language.

We made a test with our kids, the name of the mini book was “my mother and me“ in Spanish “mi mamá y yo”. We print, fold and put it on the table and sat the kids to dinner, and they were really surprise when they found something different on the table a BOOK!  My older kid Carlos asked right away: is this a mini book? WOW I want to color it now, said Esteban the little one, who was so happy; he joins us with colors and crayons. When he was ready to start he saw the letters of the story, and say sad “I don’t know how to read”. Carlos was so happy to be able to assist his brother and proudly say I can help you, I know how to read. We were amazed to find out that Carlos had no difficulty at all reading in Spanish, and relating to the translation in English. They finished the book with just one question: Can you print another mini book tomorrow please?

Learning while enjoying is a great educational tool. Onlinefreespanish invite you to use this activity in your home, class, or library with your children. Please feel more than welcome to share you’re your experiences with your children practicing this activity.

The blind Man and the Cripple.

While walking down a windy path, a blind man tripped on a rock and fell. “I cannot go on by myself. This path is too difficult.” He rested on a rock and waited.

A little while passed, and the blind man heard someone approaching.

“My friend,” said the blind man.

“Would you help me find my way?” “I would very much like to help but I am lame.
The path is windy and my legs are having a hard time of it alone. You look well and strong.”

“Yes, I am healthy. It is not my legs that give me trouble.
It is my eyes. I am blind.” “Luck is not on our side,” remarked the lame man.

“You are healthy but cannot see. I can see, but can barely walk.
Nevertheless, I have an idea. What do you think if I lend you my eyes, and you help me with your feet?”

“Great idea,” answered the lame man. “Alone we may not get to where we are going.
But together we are sure to finish this walk.”

So the blind man bent down and the lame man sat on his shoulders. Using the blind man’s legs and the lame man’s eyes, the two proceeded along their journey.

Said the lame man to the blind man:

“Take me on your shoulders.

You will be my legs,

And I will be your eyes.”

Sep29
2011
Written by OnlineFreeSpanish

_____________________________________________________________________________

From September 15 to October 15 is celebrated Hispanic Heritage month. The reason for chose to start the Hispanic Heritage Month September 15, is because it is the date on which celebrates the independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico, Belize and Chile celebrate their independence on 16, 18 and 21 September respectively.

In the U.S. many Latinos and Hispanics have made significant contributions to the country achieving significant success in science, art, sports, politics and many other fields.

There are different ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We can read some books to our children or students, in Spanish, or hold events where children can share their Hispanic heritage. In the past days, in the school of one of my children made an event where children had to create a billboard which compile their Hispanic heritage. The project was nice because my son put photos of their grandparents, jewelry, money, flag, products such as coffee and dressed for exhibition a shirt with the colors of our country, Colombia.

We really feel that our son is proud of his Hispanic heritage.

As a Hispanic, I invite you to participate in this celebration, teaching our children the traditions, culture and most importantly the Spanish language.

El juego de la Familia – Family game

Sep15
2011
Written by OnlineFreeSpanish

___________________________________________________________________________________________

If you really want to learn how to pronounce and write each of the names of family members, I recommend this game.

Using a family tree, where they represent the main family members,

a series of questions where you can learn and practice well the relationship between each member of the family.

For example:

In the drawing we see that there are two members of the family in red squares, in the exercise we are asking what is the relationship between these two people, for this we have

the blue box where we give the name of the first person, followed by three options relationship, and the name of the second person. We must choose one of the three options. Each time we go over the options we will hear the pronunciation, very important!
If we choose the correct answer will hear a bell sound and complete pronunciation of the relationship between two people, if we fail we will have an opportunity to achieve the correct answer.

The lessons and games that we develop, only have a single objective, to facilitate the learning of Spanish, if you take advantage of these activities we are really sure that you will strengthen the language.

El juego de la cara – face game

Jun19
2011
Written by OnlineFreeSpanish

Come and practice the parts of the face in Spanish with our interactive presentation.
http://www.onlinefreespanish.com/aplica/lessons/face/face2.htm

additionally you can practice the Lesson of the face with all the activities we have created for you.
http://www.onlinefreespanish.com/aplica/lessons/face/facemenu.htm

The face game, it’s really fun! Why?

In the face’s game we will learn the different parts of the face; additionally we will work our memory!
In the first part of the game, appears the face and each of the parts randomly (face – hair – eyebrows – eyes – cheeks – mouth – chin – nose – ears), these faces continue appearing, until we press the HERE button, all parts of the face stop and form a specific drawing of a face with all the parts, the game consist in memorize the face and then, with all these parts rebuild the face that we already memorized.

We find a blue area, in this area we can build the face using all the parts that are in the list in the right list.

Each part has 4 different options; like in the hair we have 4 different hair styles, one yellow, one brown, one orange and one black, in each of the other parts are going to find 4 different ways. These options allow us to reconstruct the face that we previously memorized. Additionally every time that we click in the face parts buttons, we can hear the sound of the part that we are using, that allows us to reinforce and memorize how pronounce the part in Spanish.

When we are sure that we built the face that we previous memorized, we need to press DONE, and we’re going to find how many parts are equal and how many parts are different from the original.
Finally we can compare the initial face vs. the face that we are done.
Enjoy the new game and learn!

A aprender jugando!

This is a great song for learning Spanish senses vocabulary. Learn the song watching the video – the movement that we create for each sense and the graphics that appear, reinforce the meaning of the each word.

You can sing the song showing each sense with your finger.

“I see with my eyes – Yo veo con mis ojos” show your eyes with your fingers, move your eyes side by side.
“I ear with my ears – Yo oigo con mis orejas”, put your hand behind your ear; make a gesture that is listening something!

“I taste with my mouth – Yo pruebo con mi boca”, move your mouth like when you are eating some delicious fruits.

You can use your imagination in the song to represent each sense.
